Rheumatism

Though muscular aches and pains in cold or damp weather are real enough to many elderly people, 'rheumatism' has no precise meaning.  While conventional medicine prescribes anti-inflammatory drugs and painkillers, homeopathic treatment is constitutional.

Rheumatism has been successfully treated and managed by "Homeopathic Centre".

Rheumatism requires detailed specific prescribing of the "right" homeopathic remedy.

Trial and error or shotgun prescribing does not work, and therefore we don't recommend self-medication. In fact, self-medication will complicate the overall symptom picture.

Bryonia - Aches and pains are worse in the cold, dry weather, and are aggravated by movement, whilst being relieved by pressure.

Pulsatilla - Pains flit from one part of the body to another, warm rooms make pain worse.  Person feels weepy and digestion is upset by fatty foods.

Causticum - Pains mainly in jaw and neck, with muscle spasms.  The pains tend to wear off or become less in the warm or wet weather.

Rhus tox - Aching and stiffness, especially in cold damp weather, in morning, or after rest, stiffness tends to wear off once person starts to move around - in turn causing restlessness.
